A group meeting was held this Wednesday morning with around forty deputies from the right, elected and re-elected in the legislative elections. The LR group in the Assembly will now be called “La Droite Républicaine”.

François-Xavier Ceccoli announced it during his campaign, and he is making it happen today. The new MP for the 2nd constituency of Haute-Corse will sit with the Republican Right, a newly created parliamentary group that will bring together around forty members.

In the presidency, Laurent Wauquiez, the deputy of Haute-Loire. An unsurprising choice: he was the only candidate, and was therefore logically chosen to take the lead of this new party, after several hours of meetings.

A meeting in which François-Xavier Ceccoli, mayor of San Giulianu and a key figure of the island’s right, took part.

With the 40 deputies who participated in this meeting, a political line was debated and well defined. The new party will be independent and will not be attached to any political family, while keeping a certain “responsibility“, explains François-Xavier Ceccoli.

According to the latter, the danger “is the Melenchonist risk with the underlying danger that La France Insoumise can represent today for the management of France“. “We will not take part in any government, no matter what happens.“, assures the deputy of the second constituency of Haute-Corse.

He notes, however, that if laws go in the right direction or represent a danger according to the new party, they will not hesitate to mobilize.
