On October 26 in Pacé, near , a 5-year-old child was seriously injured in the head by two bullets from an automatic weapon. His father, who was driving the car he was in, was trying to escape a rival gang who were pursuing him following a conflict to control the Gros-Chêne trading point in Maurepas. The repercussion in public opinion was at the origin of the arrival, on November 1, of the Minister of the Interior, Bruno Retailleau.

This Wednesday, December 4, the Rennes public prosecutor, Frédéric Teillet, announced that the investigations carried out jointly by the research section and the Rennes judicial police (Dcos) had made it possible to determine the presence in the vehicle, in the evening facts, of several individuals known for drug trafficking. The prosecutor said that some of them are involved in other episodes of violence linked to drug banditry, particularly in the Maurepas district.

On December 1 and 2, the judicial police, the national police, the research section, with the support of the GIGN and the gendarmerie group, arrested six people. Four of them were presented to the investigating magistrate of the JIRS who indicted three of them for attempted homicide by an organized gang and criminal association. Another person was placed under assisted witness status for the same offenses.

The three indicted were placed in pre-trial detention by the judge of freedoms and detention.
