Strike: strong mobilization expected this Thursday, December 5 in Haute-

In a context of very strong political instability, will the unions be able to unite the exasperation of a majority of employees? In any case, this is the bet they made, by launching a vast united movement this Thursday, December 5.

The call for strike will concern all professions in the territorial or state civil service, as well as the strategic energy sector. In Haute-, many services are expected to be severely disrupted, or even keep their doors closed. This is particularly the case for many schools, daycare and school catering services, municipal and departmental reception structures, and state administrative bodies.

To punctuate this day of mobilization, which the union organizations hope will be massive, a demonstration is planned in , from 10:30 a.m. (carrefour Tourny gathering).

Numerous demands

Purchasing power, working conditions, social coverage… The demands are numerous. The CGT, CFDT, Unsa, FSU, Solidaires, CFE-CGC, FO and FA-FP unions protest with one voice against several government measures, such as the extension of waiting days, the reduction of compensation for sick leave or again the non-payment of the individual purchasing power guarantee (GIPA).

In the energy sector, unions particularly want to speed up ongoing wage negotiations. “We are also asking for resources in favor of public services which meet the general interest,” explains the Upper Viennese inter-union association.

The Barnier Government in the viewfinder

Because in the background, it is the Barnier government's draft budget, already very weakened on the political scene, which is in the viewfinder, particularly among the territorials. “While agents' remuneration has fallen significantly due to inflation and the freezing of the index point, the increase from one to three days of waiting time in the event of sick leave is yet another injustice, without forgetting a public holiday that they would like to steal from us,” lament the unions.

Teachers as reinforcement

It remains to be seen whether the mobilization, for this day which will undoubtedly be a test for the unions, will be as strong as announced. The presence in the movement of the two powerful teaching federations (FSU and Unsa-Education), which reflect a deep malaise in the education sector, could in any case give it additional relief.
