QWho will pay the bill? We remember the highly publicized wedding of Martha Louise of Norway, on August 31, in the magnificent Geiranger fjord, listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. The eldest daughter of King Harald V had requisitioned the Union Hotel, which overlooks the sea, for the occasion to marry Durek Verrett, a Californian shaman with a dubious reputation… And did not skimp on expenses: a festive evening of welcome, cruise for guests in the fjord, cocktail and gala dinner, rental of a huge tent, hearty brunch the next day…
But three months later, it's all grimacing among the service providers. According to the Norwegian newspaper See and Whorethe bride and groom left behind a lot of debt that remains to be paid, notably to the hotel, the caterer and the DJ. In total, the sum is around one million Norwegian crowns, or around 86,000 euros, which is far from negligible…
The newspaper states that several companies involved “have been waiting for several months for the payment of sums which are now affecting their cash flow. These are several orders placed by Princess Martha during the four days of her wedding celebration. And to specify that these amounts have already been the subject in recent weeks of recovery procedures or reminder letters…
