Boxing: Quebecer Tammara Thibeault will “take the plunge” into the pros on December 13

Quebec boxer Tammara Thibeault will compete in her first professional fight on December 13 in Florida.

Thibeault will face her compatriot Natasha Spence (8-6-2, 6 KOs) in a middleweight duel as part of the gala organized by Most Valuable Promotion (MVP). The duel will take place at the Caribe Royale hotel in Orlando and will be broadcast on the DAZN platform.

“It is with immense joy that I officially announce the start of my professional career,” Thibeault said in a press release. The time has come to take the plunge and embark on this new adventure.

“I am proud to embark on this journey with my fantastic team, and all my experience acquired so far. I can’t wait to discover the opportunities that will be available to us and to see where this adventure can take us. »

Thibeault, 27, was crowned middleweight world champion in 2022. She was also decorated with gold at the Commonwealth Games in 2022, then at the Pan American Games in Santiago in 2023.

The Shawinigan athlete participated in the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021, where she lost in the quarterfinals to take fifth place in her category. However, she lost her first fight at the Games last summer.
