A hunter living in the canton of Friborg lost his life during a wild boar hunt in Oulens-sur-Échallens, a press release from the Vaud cantonal police indicated this Saturday.

Friday shortly after 2 p.m., following a hunt for a herd of wild boars in an inaccessible area, a 64-year-old man was fatally shot by one of the other hunters with whom he was.

Arriving on the scene, the emergency services could only note his death. The two hunters who shot are two Swiss aged 67 and 80 living in the region. They were interviewed by the police in the presence of a lawyer.

The police confirm that “the Public Prosecutor’s Office has been informed and the duty prosecutor has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of this death. She entrusted the investigations to security police personnel.”
