The 2024 Telethon couldn't have dreamed of a better godfather than Mika. The singer of British and Lebanese origin has a particularly committed and engaging profile. Against school bullying and for marriage for all, he added his name to UNICEF in order to provide aid to Lebanese victims of the war in the Middle East.
Sponsoring this new edition of the Telethon gave him an alarming insight into the emergency situation in which rare disease research also finds itself.
“We're starting to feel the pressurehe alerted on the RTL microphone. When we say that there are no small donations, more than ever I will reinforce it”. Because donations, no matter their size, “it’s better than anything”.
Mika at the Telethon: the last of the last?
The 2024 Telethon has farewell scents. Mika has in fact decided to put a halt to his television career after this long weekend. “I never got tired of TV, you know, before there was a little bit… I remember when there was really this snobbery around TVwe will say, in relation to the musicians”explained the ex-juror of The Voice to Thomas Isle on RTL this November 28.
The young forty-year-old then corrected himself: “And it’s so old-fashioned, in fact, it’s so lame now to say that, so, it’s not that.” “It’s that now I’m entering a phase where I’m currently writing a new album and also, I'm very aware now that I've done quite a bit of TV”he finally announced. The end of an era…

“We only met for a few seconds, and
this boy will stay in my head and in my heart
for the rest of my life”, confided the famous godfather, as reported by Auféminin. And to add:
“We have a rule this year at the Telethon: we will never tell Paul that he is not allowed to speak.”
