The Ministry of National Education and the Organizing Committee for the Youth Olympic Games (YOG) signed an agreement on Friday for the Dakar 2026 YOG, said a press release from the Ministry of National Education.

According to the ministry, this agreement aims to mobilize students and strengthen sport in schools. Several actions are planned, including the creation of a Civic and Sports Olympic Certificate, the organization of a national competition to choose the YOG mascot and the preparation of the Olympic Torch relay across the country.

It also aims to highlight traditional sports as cultural heritage, and to promote the Olympic values ​​of excellence, friendship and respect.

This convention places young people at the heart of the preparations, allowing them to fully experience this unique event. It also shows that school sport can be a powerful tool to educate, include and prepare the future generation.

The YOG-Dakar 2026, the fourth of the name, is scheduled from October 31 to November 13, 2026, in Dakar, Diamniadio and Saly. Senegal will welcome the whole world, ready to share its talent and hospitality.
