The new Samsung Galaxy S24 FE already drops below €500 thanks to Black Friday

After the great success of the Samsung Galaxy S24 and its variations, the Korean brand is releasing the Fan Edition, cheaper and with some technical concessions. We can already find it 300 euros cheaper at Boulanger for Black Friday.

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is a smartphone that dates from September 26, 2024, so it is barely 1 month old. It follows the path of Samsung which each time releases its “large” models then, a few months later, a cheaper model, perhaps a little less efficient, to attract a few more users. Google does the same with its Pixel A. In short, if you are interested, it loses 300 euros from its base price for Black Friday.

What you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE

  • A diagonal of 6.7″ similar to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus
  • 7 years of guaranteed updates
  • A maximum video definition of 8K at 24 frames/second

Instead of 750.99 euros, the Samsung Galaxy S24 FE is currently on sale at 599.99 euros at Boulanger. But if you choose in-store collection and bring back an old device, you can get it for only 449.99 euros with the trade-in bonus of 150 euros.

Does it tell you something? It's normal!

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE remains faithful to the visual identity of the Galaxy S range, in particular the S24 and its variations released this year. It sports the same clean lines, with its straight edges and rounded corners. However, this S24 FE has some notable differences: on the back, three cameras are arranged vertically, a configuration already seen on the S24 and S24 Plus models. The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE also sports a glossy finish, where the other models adopt a matte appearance. This detail, purely aesthetic, does not change much to the user experience.

However, the real compromise is at the front, where the screen bezels are thicker than those of the S24 and S24 Plus models, with a slightly more pronounced chin. However, the Galaxy S24 FE shows efforts compared to the previous generation, with borders reduced to less than 2 mm. Finally, IP68 certification and Gorilla Glass Victus+ guarantee good resistance to water and shock, as on high-end models.

A great alternative to the Samsung Galaxy S24 Plus

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE offers a 6.7″ AMOLED screen identical to that of the S24 Plus, even if a few concessions qualify the experience. For example, the maximum brightness caps at 1900 nits, compared to 2600 nits for the S24 and S24+. However, this level of brightness remains sufficient in the majority of situations. The Full HD+ resolution is satisfactory, although the S24 Plus allows you to go up to QHD+. Finally, the refresh rate oscillates between 60 and 120 Hz, compared to 1 to 120 Hz for more expensive models, which can have a slight impact on autonomy.

In terms of performance, the Galaxy S24 FE has an Exynos 2400e chip, a slightly less powerful model than the Exynos 2400 in the S24/S24+. However, the difference should remain imperceptible in the majority of uses. Finally, with its 4,700 mAh battery and its fast charging limited to 25 W (compared to 45 W for the S24 Plus), autonomy should remain correct, even if the 25W charging speed could disappoint some users.
