The 2024 harvest campaign took place under conditions judged “satisfactory” thanks to strong mobilization of agricultural actors and the support of the authorities, as indicated in the press release of the quarterly indicators of Cosumar. Production of white sugar from the agricultural campaign stood at 191,000 tonnes, down from 224,000 tonnes the previous year.

This decline in agricultural production was offset by an increase in sugar salesboth on the national and export markets, allowing the group to maintain moderate growth in its revenues.

In September 2024, the Sidi Bennour refinery entered into activity. With an annual capacity of 500,000 tonnes of white sugar, this unit brings Cosumar’s total production capacity to 2.5 million tonnes per year. Designed and built by internal teams, this refinery represents a major step forward for the sugar food sovereignty of Morocco and strengthens the regional economy.

Moreover, group investments reached 135 million dirhams (MDH) at the end of September, mainly intended for the maintenance and modernization of industrial tools, in line with the performance and sustainability strategy.

Net debt of the group amounts to 1.82 billion dirhams (MMDH) at the end of September 2024, compared to 1.46 billion at the end of December 2023.

Cosumar is starting a new agricultural campaign with reinforced ambitions. Sugar cane plantations and beet sowing have started in good conditions, with the aim of doubling the areas dedicated to beets. These efforts are based on innovative solutions aimed at optimizing the use of water resources, while mobilizing all partners for the success of the program.
