Despite the relative anonymity of the social network Snapchat, it took police officers from the central division less than three days to identify three teenagers suspected of having made death threats against a teacher at the Rempart-Vinci high school, in the 7th arrondissement of on a private discussion group called “Rempart 5”. The professor had filed a complaint on November 25, in particular for written death threats against a person responsible for a public service mission and those around him, as well as cyber harassment, he had also been received by the head of the establishment and legal protection and a support by a psychologist had been implemented by the rectorate.

At the same time, police officers from the central division's personal attacks group sent requests to the social network Snapchat, in order to identify the people behind the accounts causing the threats. They also established a list of students and collected information from the school management, until they identified a first suspect, then two others, minors aged just 15 years old. Summoned to the police station this week, they were placed in police custody at the request of the Marseille prosecutor's office. At the end of the hearings, the three young suspects were to be presented to a juvenile judge on November 29.
