A serious road accident took place this Wednesday, November 27 around 6:50 p.m. in the village of Forel. For a reason that the investigation will have to determine, a motorist coming from Vevey hit a woman who was crossing the road at the intersection with the Mollie-Margot road, in the center of the town. Seriously injured, the victim, a 40-year-old Swiss woman, was taken in by a REGA helicopter bound for CHUV. The motorist, a 76-year-old Swiss man, was questioned by the gendarmes.
The public prosecutor was informed and the duty prosecutor opened a criminal investigation. She entrusted the investigations to gendarmerie specialists in order to determine the exact causes and circumstances of this accident.
The police are appealing for witnesses. Anyone able to provide information or information about this accident is asked to call 021 343 15 10 or contact their nearest police station.
This event required the intervention of four mobile gendarmerie patrols, a patrol from the East Lausanne Police, two ambulances from 144, a REGA helicopter, two people from the Emergency Support Team (ESU), staff from the DGMR/SIERA for closing the road and setting up a diversion as well as staff from the municipality of Forel.
