Lausanne missed its duel at the top of the National League on Thursday evening. At home, the Lions lost 6-2 against Davos.
A proper implosion. A catastrophic second third like the Lausanne supporters had probably not seen for a long time. A new demonstration that the Vaud defense does not display the same solidity as last season after conceding a 6-1 Tuesday in Bienne.
And to think that Fabian Heldner opened the scoring after 49 seconds… Only the good intentions that appeared during the initial period disappeared as if by magic. If Tino Kessler’s 1-1 at 5 against 4 (24th) is not humiliating, it is difficult to say the same about the rest.
Between the 29th and 30th, the Grisons increased the score from 1-1 to 4-1. Worse for Lausanne, the 2-1 and the 3-1 were scored while they were playing in numerical superiority! Unforgivable individual errors against the championship leader.
In the 50th and while the LHC could retain a tiny hope of imitating Geneva on Monday evening against Ambri, Zadina took care to show that any resistance was in vain. Only Suomela finally managed to deceive Hollenstein once again (54th), but Knak was able to give his team a four-point lead at the very end of the match.
This is the second time this season that Geoff Ward’s players have suffered two defeats in a row this season and the first time since two losses in September against Lugano and Kloten.
