The Speaker of the National Assembly of Tanzania, Dr Tulia Ackson, on Wednesday announced the passing of Dr Faustine Ndugulile, Member of Parliament for Kigamboni and former Regional Director of the World Health Organization (WHO) for Africa.
Dr Ndugulile died on the morning of November 27 in India, where he was undergoing medical treatment, said the Speaker of Parliament in a statement marked by deep sadness.
« I learned with immense pain the sad news of the death of Dr Ndugulile. His death represents a loss not only for the people of Kigamboni, but also for all Tanzanians. May the Almighty rest his soul in eternal peace said Dr. Ackson.
The Parliament office sent its condolences to the family of the deceased, pledging its support for the organization of the funeral, the details of which will be announced later.
Born in 1969, Dr Faustine Ndugulile was a leading figure in politics and public health in Tanzania.
Recognized for his commitment to improving the living conditions of his fellow citizens, he has also played a key role in global public health initiatives.
