Arthur Dreyfuss leaves the head of Altice Media

Arthur Dreyfuss announced on Tuesday, July 2, that he was leaving the management of Altice Media (BFM-TV and RMC), which had just been bought by the shipping company CMA CGM from billionaire Rodolphe Saadé, which the buyer confirmed in a press release. The former boss of M6 Nicolas de Tavernost, vice-president since May of the holding company CMA Médias, has been appointed interim CEO of the new entity RMC-BFM, CMA CGM specifies.

“Contrary to what I thought and what I announced to you on March 15, I will not continue to lead our media group. This difficult and carefully considered choice was made in recent days. It is effective today.”Mr. Dreyfuss wrote in a message to employees. “Not continuing at the head of the media group is more useful for the new shareholder, more relevant for the group and more coherent for me”he continues. “With Rodolphe Saadé, a new chapter opens on extremely solid foundations, and for the better. CMA CGM is a large industrial group, French, family-run, with strong values ​​and which is committed to the long term.”says Mr. Dreyfuss.

This announcement comes a few hours after the finalization of the acquisition of Altice Media by CMA CGM, for an amount of 1.55 billion euros.

Altice Media, which was called NextRadio TV until 2021, was gradually sold to Patrick Drahi by Alain Weill, starting in 2015. This group includes the news channel BFM-TV, the radio RMC and the TNT channels RMC Découverte and RMC Story.
