A computer scientist by training, she has 25 years of experience in the technology and telecommunications sectors. As an entrepreneur, she is committed to promoting and facilitating the marketing of exclusively African products.

Nafy Diagne (photo) is a Senegalese telecommunications expert and technology entrepreneur. She is the founder of Awalebiz, an e-commerce platform dedicated to promoting African creativity.

Founded in 2014, Awalebiz provides an online space where local designers, clothing makers, artists, artisans and entrepreneurs can market their products. This multi-seller platform allows each producer to manage their own store, thus providing an international showcase for African talent. Through this initiative, the company is committed to promoting local artisans and highlighting the richness of African culture.

« We launched the platform 5 years ago and we validated the concept of a cross-border continental platform that brings together sellers from different African countries to enable them to sell their products locally, regionally and internationally», explains the founder of Awalebiz.

Since 2023, Nafy Diagne has held the position of head of strategy and transformation at Free Senegal, a telecommunications company. She joined this company in 2019 as director of digital transformation and customer experience.

The Senegalese graduated from the Centrale Institut in where she obtained a master’s degree in computer science and industrial technology in 1999. His professional career began in 1999 at Capgemini, an IT company, as an integration team leader.

In 2008, Nafy Diagne joined Ericsson as a solutions architect. Over the years, she held various positions of responsibility: client project manager in systems integration, program director, project manager for sub-Saharan Africa, then information director for this same region.

In 2016, she became Atos’ Telecommunications Market Director for the India, Middle East and Africa region. Between 2020 and 2023, she serves as Director of Digital Business at Axian Group, a pan-African group specializing in telecommunications, finance, energy, real estate and open innovation.

In 2017, Awalebiz won first prize in the third edition of the Linguère Digital Challenge. In 2022 and 2023, Nafy Diagne is included in the global top 100 digital business directors, a ranking established by technology companies HP Enterprise and HotTopics.
