The octogenarian, who was reported missing on Tuesday, was in a dispute with his neighbor over water leaks. His body was found “completely folded up”, with “his face smashed”, in a forest 3km from his home.
An 81-year-old woman was found dead in a bag, in a forest near Blois (Loir-et-Cher), and her neighbor taken into police custody. An investigation was opened for homicide. The disappearance of the victim was reported on Tuesday by his son-in-law who “was worried about not having any news”declared the public prosecutor of Blois, Charlotte Beluet.
At home, “traces of blood (…) some of which have been cleaned” are discovered by investigators, who learn of the existence of a “neighborhood dispute”concerning water leaks, with his neighbor, born in 1989, explained the magistrate. Friday, “walkers reported the presence of a bag on the edge of a wood on a path, a bag that seemed quite heavy”she indicated.
“A very violent blow with a fairly massive object”
Inside, the victim's body was discovered, “completely folded”with “the smashed face”who would have received a priori “a very violent blow with a fairly massive object”according to the prosecutor. “At the neck level, she has significant wounds that look like wounds made with a knife”she described. “The autopsy will be performed on Monday”in particular to establish whether the blows were inflicted before or after the death of the octogenarian, said Charlotte Beluet.
Placed in police custody on Friday, the victim's neighbor claims to have “discovered her neighbor lying at home and dead”. “He would have cleaned everything up. He then allegedly transported the body in this suitcase. all the way to the woods, recounted the magistrate, recalling that there is “a distance of 3 km between the home and the place where this bag was found, and which he would have covered on foot” this journey. The neighbor denies having committed the homicide, underlined Charlotte Beluet, specifying that he had no criminal record and that the prosecution had opened an investigation for “intentional homicide in view of the new findings”.
