OnePlus Pad 2 review: a tablet that offers more without breaking the bank

The OnePlus Pad 2 houses a 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel with a definition of 2120 x 3000 pixels, or a density of 304 ppi. Compatible with the brand's various styluses, this display offers a variable refresh rate of up to 144 Hz, a notable advantage in its price range.

Although it does not benefit from the infinite contrast provided by Oled technology, the screen displays 1194:1 and a maximum brightness of 580 cd/m², which constitutes a very correct result. This appreciable brightness in direct sunlight is however countered by a reflectance of 45.7%. For use in the dark, it can go down to 1.7 cd/m² measured under our probes, a comfortable level for the eyes.

The default calibration nevertheless leaves something to be desired. The colorimetric drifts are certainly barely perceptible to the naked eye, as evidenced by its delta E of 3, but the color temperature is far too cold at 8141 K, far from the reference 6500 K. For a more accurate display, switching to Pro mode is recommended, as it adjusts the temperature to 6572 K and reduces the delta E to 1.9, providing much more accurate color reproduction.

On a technical level, the screen records a touch delay of 92 ms and an afterglow time of 19 ms, values consistent with the average for tablets in this category. If it is nothing spectacular, the display of the OnePlus Pad 2 seduces with its balanced performance and its adaptability.
