The lifeless body of the 81-year-old lady, Odile Malfray, residing on Avenue Wilson in Blois, was discovered by a walker on Friday November 22 around 5:30 p.m. The latter raised the alarm even though he was 3 km away. from Ms. Malfray's home, between Blois and Saint-Gervais-la-Forêt: he had just discovered a suspicious bag.
The police, a public prosecutor and a forensic doctor were quickly on site. They discover Mrs. Malfray's body curled up in the bag, her legs folded cross-legged across her chest, her face covered with a towel. According to our information confirmed by the public prosecutor, the octogenarian's face was literally smashed, undoubtedly by a heavy object, while the old lady's neck has deep cuts probably inflicted by a bladed weapon such as a knife. An autopsy will be carried out on Monday at the Tours forensic institute.
The last person who encountered the octogenarian was his cleaning lady. The relatives then issued a wanted notice at the beginning of the week. Police came to the home and found freshly cleaned traces of blood. This is why an investigation into kidnapping and sequestration was opened.
The neighbor arrested
The victim's neighbor, who lives in the apartment located on the floor above, was arrested Friday morning and placed in police custody. This is a man born in 1989 who has no criminal record. The man claims to have discovered the lifeless body and admits to having cleaned the traces of blood before transporting the corpse 3 km from the building. He denies having killed her and assures that his neighbor was already dead. According to the neighborhood investigation, the young man and the octogenarian had a dispute over a water leak which damaged the octogenarian's apartment.
The investigation was entrusted to the Tours judicial police service. The Blois public prosecutor's office will open a judicial investigation for murder this Sunday following the neighbor's custody.
