The Commission to Support the Digitization, Modernization and Creation of Cinemas, chaired by Mohamed Khouna, has decided to grant aid of 12 million dirhams to support the construction of three new cinemas in Morocco . This decision was taken during a meeting held on November 12, 2024 in Rabat, in the presence of members of the commission, notably Samira Himeur, Amina Saibari, Dalal Seddiki, Khadija Laabid, Ahmed Larhmam, Mohammed Hassan Belkady and Abdillah Zirat.
The aid will be distributed equally between three cinema projects, namely “Cinerji Carrousel” in Rabat, “Cinerji Rocade” in Casablanca and “Cinerji Annakhil” in Marrakech. Each of the theaters will benefit from a grant of 4 million dirhams for their creation, in order to strengthen the country’s cinematographic infrastructure and promote access to cinematographic culture in different regions.
This support is part of the efforts of the Moroccan Cinematographic Center (CCM) to encourage the development of the cinematographic sector, while modernizing equipment and supporting the creation of new cultural infrastructures. This project also aims to boost the cinema industry in Morocco, by offering more opportunities for moviegoers to discover national and international productions in modern and adapted spaces.
