Following the incidents that occurred during the Pastef caravan last Sunday in Bambey, the Minister of Microfinance, Dr. Alioune Dione, came out of his reserve to express his regrets at the turn of events, according to Vox Pop which relayed the information.

According to a close friend of the minister, present at the scene, the provocation came from Aida Mbodji’s camp, which added fuel to the fire. He maintains that Dr. Alioune Dione did everything possible to avoid any form of provocation likely to harm the Pastef party in the department. “On Sunday November 17, 2024, around 10 p.m., while the Bambey departmental electoral committee was celebrating the resounding victory of the Pastef party with a caravan, an incident broke out. He added: “This maneuver, we are told, triggered an altercation between the numerous security agents recruited by Madame Mbodji, outside the system put in place by the departmental electoral committee of Pastef, and the young people of the Patriotic Youth Senegalese (JPS) from Bambey. From this regrettable incident, according to the Alioune Dione camp, injuries were inflicted on Abdou Aziz Mbengue, the driver of one of the minister’s campaign cars. »

“More regrettable, Madame Aïda Mbodji, in the presence of the protection agent and activists, uttered insults and insanities against Dr. Dione throughout the altercation, to which Dr. Dione did not didn’t respond.
