Elements of the prefectural judicial police service reporting to the Béni Mellal police headquarters, acting on the basis of precise information provided by the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), proceeded in the afternoon on Friday, November 15, 2024, with the arrest of nine individuals aged 29 to 54. Among them, four are known for their criminal records and they are suspected of being involved in a criminal network active in the falsification of documents and the illegal modification of the technical characteristics of vehicles.
This police operation, carried out simultaneously in several locations in the city of Béni Mellal, led to the seizure of nine cars of different brands and categories, as well as a motorcycle whose origins and legality are the subject of ongoing technical expertise. . Mobile phones and sums of money, suspected of coming from these criminal activities, were also confiscated.
In addition, checks carried out in the National Security database revealed that one of the suspects was the subject of a national search warrant issued by the judicial police services of Béni Mellal. The suspects were placed in police custody as part of the judicial investigation supervised by the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to determine the degree of involvement of each, to identify possible ramifications of this criminal network, and to arrest all accomplices and participants involved in these illegal acts.
