The Department of Health and Mobility (DSM) points out that “the new system distributes vehicle taxation more evenly.” According to projections, 62.5% of vehicle owners see their taxes reduced; for 4.1% of them, it remains the same and 33.4% experience an increase. What about complaints? “With slips arriving in mailboxes in recent days, the number of requests for information and complaints is increasing,” indicates the DSM. As for the payment terms, they are enshrined in law. “This tax is payable in one go,” specifies the Department. However, faced with the difficulties encountered by certain taxpayers, “the administration is working on a solution allowing the payment of tax to be split and staggered, provided that the legal framework is adapted,” concludes the DSM.
