In Le Soir Saturday, Georges-Louis Bouchez emphasizes that the government agreement must reflect the results of the elections. “This is what Conner (Rousseau, president of Vooruit, Editor’s note) must understand: given the balance of power, it is logical that there are elements for Vooruit in the texts, but also that the general tone of a government agreement cannot be from the left, but from the center right. The electoral reality is that people voted more to the right, the signal is that, it must be respected.
The liberal says he does not think that the MR and Vooruit are irreconcilable “if each accepts the other’s space”. “But they must understand that, overall, there must be a reduction in taxation on workers. If there is a significant reduction in taxation on work, we can accept something else, that is “idea of balance.”
The MR wants to impose anti-PTB clauses in any agreement with the PS: “They are making a serious mistake for their direct survival”
In an interview given to Laatste Nieuws on Thursday and published on Saturday, Georges-Louis Bouchez also states that the quickest path to a government is with Open VLD and without Vooruit.
