The packaging manufacturer Vetropack announces that it has reached an agreement with employee representatives and unions on a social plan for its St-Prex (VD) site. This applies to all employees affected by the job cuts.

The proposed social plan prepared by Vetropack was discussed and developed over the past few weeks, the group said in a press release on Saturday. The two sides reached an agreement on Friday after difficult discussions. The staff went on strike at the end of May to demand “real negotiations”.

The social plan includes all the elements already announced in mid-May, such as severance pay, bonuses as well as benefits in the event of potential early retirement. A dedicated Job Center will help employees find new jobs.

The closure of the St-Prex factory should result in the elimination of around 180 positions. Half of the contracts will be terminated until August 31. The other positions will be gradually crossed out until 2026.
