Partial lifting of the confinement notice which is in progress in the area around the Canadian National (CN) rail yard, near Jacques-Cartier Boulevard West and Saint-Georges Street.

The lockdown notice is lifted in the northern portion of Jacques-Cartier Boulevard. To confirm whether you are still in the containment zone or not, CONSULT THE MAP OF THE AFFECTED SECTOR.

Following the train derailment around 9 a.m. this morning involving hydrogen peroxide at the Canadian National (CN) rail yard, near Jacques-Cartier Boulevard West and Saint-Georges Street, the population found in a perimeter of 800 meters around the site is required to be confined indoors, as a security measure.

The City of Longueuil warns the population that due to a train derailment involving hydrogen peroxide at the Canadian National (CN) yard guard, near Jacques-Cartier Boulevard West and Saint-Georges Street, Route 116 is closed to traffic in both directions.

The area should be avoided. Containment within a radius of 800 meters. CONSULT THE MAP OF THE AFFECTED SECTOR.

The situation is being analyzed and City teams are currently deployed on the site.
