WhatsApp will improve image sharing in an upcoming version. The app will thus have a new shortcut, and, above all, simplify the different steps necessary to send several photos.
WhatsApp is actively working on image management within the application. Thus, instant messaging is in the process of developing several promising functions, such as the generation of self-photos by AI, image analysis and retouching using artificial intelligence, or even a reverse image search function. on the Web in order to determine in the blink of an eye the origin and veracity of an image received (see our article). This time, Meta tackles sending photos.
Indeed, currently, to be able to send several images via instant messaging, you must access a menu where several options are offered, such as “Camera”, “Gallery”, “Document” or “Location”, or even go through the camera. In short, it requires some manipulation. But, soon, it should be much simpler! The specialized site WABetaInfo discovered, in beta version 2.24.23.11 of the application on Android, a shortcut to the gallery directly in the chat bar. Additionally, multiple image selection will be much faster than it is now!
Sending images on WhatsApp: a new shortcut and a revised interface
This new gallery will be accessible directly from the chat bar via a dedicated button, reducing the steps required to share media in chats. Another advantage: this new system allows you to select several images or videos simultaneously upon opening. Thanks to a new interface strongly inspired by that of the application on iOS, it will be possible to select several images or videos in one go, with the possibility of attaching a unique caption for the entire batch sent directly from the chat bar. The interface will also allow you to select HD resolution for images, thus offering the possibility of sending higher quality files with a simple touch of a finger, without having to carry out the process individually.
The image editing process is also allowed some changes. Until now, users who wanted to send an image had to first go through the editor, but this will no longer be mandatory. From now on, this step will be optional and there will be a button allowing access to the different tools. Which again simplifies the sending process. Finally, multiple images shared in a conversation are now automatically grouped into a single bubble, even if only two images were sent together. Previously, at least four photos or videos were required to be shared simultaneously for them to be grouped in the same message bubble. No deployment date has yet been indicated, so we will have to wait a while before being able to take advantage of these new features.
