The Senegalese Federation (FSF) announces that it has granted performance bonuses to the national beach team and the under-17 team for an amount of 130 million CFA francs.

The two selections were, respectively, African beach football champions and champions of the Zone A tournament of the Union of West African Football Federations (UFOA-A).

The FSF disbursed ”130 million CFA francs to reward the U17 Cubs and the Beach Soccer Lions whose objective is to win the next CAN in the category and the next Beach Soccer World Cup”, perhaps we read in the press release from the Senegalese Football Federation.

The national Beach soccer team will receive an individual bonus of four million CFA francs. This reward will be one million CFA francs for each player on the U17 team, said the same source.

Senegal won the Beach Soccer African Cup of Nations (CAN) for the eighth time, beating Mauritania in the final in Hurghada, Egypt. He has obtained five titles in the last five editions of the continental competition.

The team is qualified for the final stages of the World Cup in the discipline scheduled for 2025 in Victoria, Seychelles (May 1-11).

The Senegal Lions have played in 10 of the 12 finals of this African Cup of Nations, the first edition of which was held in 2006 in Durban, South Africa. They are winners of the 2008, 2011, 2013, 2016, 2018, 2021, 2022 and 2024 editions.

The Senegal national team lost the finals in 2007 and 2015. They won the bronze medal in this competition in 2009.

The national under-seventeen (U17) football team won the UFOA-A tournament, beating that of Mali by 5 penalties to 4, in Diamniadio (west), on November 4. The two teams tied, 3-3.

Senegal, winner of the 2022 edition of this UFOA-A competition, thus retains the title of champion of the said zone.

The finalists of the tournament automatically qualify for the next edition of the African Cup of Nations (CAN) under 17 years old.

Senegal is the reigning U17 CAN champion.
