Police officers from the wilaya of Tangier proceeded, in the early hours of this Sunday, November 10, to the arrest of two individuals aged 19 and 21, suspected of involvement in a series of violent thefts committed using of a motor vehicle.
Initial investigation data indicates that the suspects may have carried out several thefts with kidnapping using a rented light vehicle on Saturday night. These acts mainly targeted road users, particularly motorcyclists. A series of field operations made it possible to identify them and arrest them in downtown Tangier, where the vehicle used in these crimes, displaying falsified registration plates, was also seized.
The searches carried out during their arrest led to the seizure of several mobile phones and personal effects, presumed to come from the thefts committed, as well as a bottle of “dinitrogen oxide” gas used for anesthesia.
The two suspects were placed in police custody under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, as part of the investigation aimed at establishing all the offenses with which they are accused.
