The restructuring of the institutions for managing the affairs of Moroccans living abroad (MRE), decided by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, will give new impetus to the involvement of Moroccan skills in the development dynamics of the Kingdom, underlined the Moroccan scientist from the American Space Agency (NASA), Kamal Oudrhiri.
“This institutional restructuring announced by His Majesty the King is capable of giving an even stronger impetus to the involvement of Moroccans around the world in the Kingdom’s clear march towards greater progress,” the project director of the Cold Atom laboratory within NASA.
The reform of the Council of the Moroccan Community Abroad and the creation of the Mohammedia Foundation of Moroccans residing abroad denote the High Concern with which the Sovereign continues to surround Moroccan citizens established abroad, said Mr. . Oudrhiri.

This scientist, who has lived in the United States for more than thirty years while remaining actively engaged in projects intended in particular to promote innovation among young people in Morocco, estimated that MREs have always “carried in their hearts an unwavering love and attachment to their country of origin”. “Love and dedication to our homeland is in the DNA of all Moroccans wherever they are,” he said.
And added that “the High Royal Solicitude, the development efforts and the increasingly important positioning of Morocco on the regional and international scene are all sources of pride for the MRE”, noted Mr. Oudrhiri, who has worked for 25 years at NASA where he played a key role in multiple space missions.
