Not one, but three ministers are expected in (Seine-Maritime), this Thursday, November 7, 2024.

Catherine Vautrin, Antoine Armand and François Durovrayrespectively in charge of Partnership with the Territories and Decentralization, Economy, Finance and Industry, and Transport, will arrive at the CCI Seine Estuaire around 10 a.m. to announce the installation of three new industries in the city's port basin.

The program of this ministerial visit

Within the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, government representatives will meet, during the morning, the three winning companies of the call for projects “ West A29 ».

These were selected by Haropa Port, in order to establish themselves on available land of around sixty hectares near the A29 motorway, close to the grand canal which crosses the Seine estuary.

The factory built by Livista Energy is expected to occupy approximately half of this redeveloped space. The chemical manufacturer plans to install a refinery there to produce battery-grade lithium. The Luxembourg company plans to invest there around 1.2 billion euros and create up to 300 jobs.

A second plot was allocated to Air Products. The American company intends to carry out a renewable hydrogen production project and plans to invest nearly 1.1 billion euros in the area. The global industrial gas supplier aims to create 270 jobs.

Finally, the third project is proposed by Q-Air, a French renewable energy producer, which intends to make it a site for the production and storage of renewable hydrogen and methanol. This project should generate 150 jobs, based on an investment of approximately 500 million euros.

Ultimately, these companies are likely to generate a total of 720 direct jobs and invest an estimated amount around2.7 billion euros.

All industrial projects rely on port activity for their commercial exchanges. Each is also intended to fuel green, decarbonized reindustrialization, which coincides with the challenges of the energy transition.

Le Havre, first in a series of sites to be redeveloped

The three selected projects will also benefit from pre-development by Haropa Port and reinforced support from State services aimed at accelerating and simplifying administrative steps and procedures, prior to their final installation.

Public support based on the “ 2030 turnkey sites” system, set up to locally remove possible obstacles to installation.

In total, nearly 1,500 hectares available had been previously identified since 2023 by state services within industrial-port zones.

Around fifty “turnkey” land sites are intended to be developed and made available by the three major seaports.
