National flu vaccination day will take place on Friday in more than 1,200 pharmacies and medical practices. Getting vaccinated will cost 30 francs.
People over 65, those suffering from chronic illnesses, children born prematurely and pregnant women should be vaccinated, the initiators of the vaccination day advise on Wednesday.
Vaccination is also recommended for people who are in regular contact with this group of people or with infants under six months of age. Added to this are people in contact with poultry or wild birds.
The National Flu Vaccination Day is an initiative of the College of General Practitioners (KHM) and is organized in collaboration with the Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Federation of Swiss Doctors (FMH) and the Swiss Association pharmacists (pharmaSuisse).
