In the press release sanctioning its meeting held Monday, November 4, the Political Bureau also welcomed the recent resolution number 2756 of the Security Council concerning the Moroccan Sahara, considering that this decision is part of the irreversible process initiated by King Mohammed VI to definitively close this “artificial conflict”. It was noted that this resolution comes in a favorable international context, marked by growing support from the permanent members of the Security Council for Morocco’s autonomy proposal.

The Politburo also applauded the way the Security Council designated stakeholders, particularly Algeria, which appears more frequently than Morocco in the resolution. The RNI reaffirmed its commitment alongside His Majesty the King to continue to defend national unity and to resist the maneuvers of opponents of Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara.

Support from France and its commitment to Moroccan sovereignty over the Sahara

Regarding the historic visit of French President Emmanuel Macron, the Politburo welcomed the clear position of the French President. The latter reaffirmed that “the present and future of the Sahara can only be envisaged under Moroccan sovereignty”, as part of the autonomy initiative launched by Morocco in 2007. The RNI also welcomed the commitment of France to support the economic, social and cultural development of the southern provinces, support which strengthens their strategic role as a link between Morocco and its African roots.

The press release also recalls the royal speech delivered at the opening of the current legislative session, in which King Mohammed VI emphasized the importance of parliamentary diplomacy and the role of political parties to broaden international recognition of the Moroccanness of the Sahara. With this in mind, the Political Bureau decided to set up a commission dedicated to the training of RNI activists and executives, in order to strengthen their capacity to defend the legitimacy of the Moroccan Sahara through legal and historical arguments during international meetings.

The 2025 finance bill and the government’s social priorities

The Political Bureau also welcomed the 2025 finance bill, which reflects the government’s priorities for the second half of the legislature. Among these priorities are the management of water-related challenges and the revitalization of the job market. The RNI highlighted the government’s social orientation, with flagship measures such as the expansion of social protection, reform of the health system, as well as the continuation of reforms in education. The press release also mentions efforts to support purchasing power, with salary increases and assistance with the prices of basic necessities and electricity.

A call for continued mobilization and proximity to citizens

Finally, the Political Bureau praised the efforts of the party structures in mobilizing and supporting citizens. He invited them to continue to promote the government’s actions and to maintain an approach of proximity and active listening to the concerns of Moroccans. This approach is an integral part of the philosophy of the RNI, which aims to be a political party based on listening and proximity in its action.
