The Lockheed C-130J Super Herculesyou stand Marrakech Air Show 2024is the newest and most advanced version of the Hercules series. It is equipped with turboprop engines. Rolls-Royce AE 2100D3, specifies a representative of the American giant, and which give it increased power and speed, allowing optimal performance even in extreme conditions.
Its reinforced design and its take-off and landing capabilities on short, undeveloped runways make it particularly effective for missions in remote areas or in difficult theaters of operations.
One of the most remarkable aspects of the C-130J is its versatility. It is capable of carrying out troop transport, equipment, in-flight refueling and medical evacuation missions. In conflict situations, it is often used for dropping paratroopers, equipment and even vehicles, thanks to its robust rear ramp and spacious cargo compartment.
The C-130J can carry up to 20 tonnes they fret or 92 soldiers in full equipment. With a range of more than 3,000 kilometers fully loaded, “making it a strategic asset for rapid deployment missions and support operations”, indicates Peter Hoffund, one of the aircraft’s pilots, interviewed on site by Médias24.
The C-130J cockpit is equipped with the latest generation of digital avionics systems, replacing classic analog instruments. It has a head-up display (HUD) for pilots, integrated GPS navigation systems, and a performance management system allowing greater precision and better energy efficiency. These features allow the C-130J to operate with a reduced crew, while improving the responsiveness and safety of operations.
