This campaignwhich continues until November 17, was launched in collaboration with the Ministry of National Education, Preschool and Sportsthe Ministry of the Interiorthe Ministry of Habous and Islamic Affairsas well as with various local partners as part of the consolidation of Morocco’s achievements in terms of vaccination and of fight against epidemic diseasesindicates a press release from Ministry of Health and Social Protection.

“This national vaccination campaign concerns the vaccination catch-up of the children under 18 against some infectious diseasesparticularly measles, poliomyelitis, diphtheria, whooping cough et tetanus. It aims to verify that all vaccine doses against these diseases have been administered to children according to their age as recommended by the national vaccination schedule“, specifies the ministry.

The main objective of this campaign is to fill the immune gaps in children under 18 years of age, by checking the vaccination status in at least 95% of the target population and to ensure catch-up vaccinations if necessary, underlines the press release.

“This campaign concerns both children in school and out of schoolby combining several intervention strategies, in fact, the verification of vaccination status of school children aged 5 to 18 will be done at the school level. educational establishmentswhile for children under 5 years old and for out-of-school children aged 5 to 18 years old, systematic verification will be carried out at the level of health centers. Furthermore, the vaccination of children will be done only at the level of primary health care facilities“, notes the same source.

To this end, the ministry claims to have mobilized the human and logistics resources necessary and planned communication measures and of awareness on a national and regional scale, involving institutional partners and community in order to achieve the expected objectives and guarantee the success of this national campaign across the different regions and provinces of the Kingdom.
