Rabat – The prize giving ceremony for the tournaments of the first edition of Morocco Gaming Expo 2024 was held on Sunday in Rabat, on the sidelines of the closing of the show, celebrating the winning teams of the video game competitions.

The ceremony, held in the presence of the Secretary General of the Department of Communication under the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, Abdelaziz El Bouzdaini, the Japanese developer Takaya Imamura, guest of honor of the show, and numerous actors of the gaming industry, took place in an enthusiastic atmosphere, reflecting the passion of a large part of Moroccan youth for video games such as PUBG Mobile, League of Legends, and EA FC 24.

In the PUBG Mobile tournament, the Cryptics team won first place, followed by the 1 Bullet team, which finished second, and the “Ocean on fire” team in third place.

For the League of Legends tournament, team VOID WALKERS took first place, while Watched Noobs finished in second place.

As for the EA FC 24 tournament, Nizar “TRG XÉNON” triumphed in first position, followed by Adam “MDJS Hatake”, while player “Fakhr Alarab” finished third.

In a statement to MAP, the director of Morocco Gaming Expo, Nisrine Souissi, stressed that the tournaments were organized on the sidelines of the show to “demonstrate to visitors and foreign investors the presence of a real community of gamers in Morocco” .

“This platform was a great success, thanks to the architecture of the Arena, the quality of the players and the organization of the event,” said Ms. Souissi, adding that as a result, the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication “plans to expand the Atlas Arena for the next edition”, in order to allow a greater number of visitors to enjoy this show.

She also explained that the Morocco Gaming Expo, which includes four platforms, welcomed 70 Moroccan exhibitors in the exhibition platform, and around fifty international speakers and experts in the gaming industry in the conference platform.

Organized under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the exhibition constituted a platform for Moroccan companies and startups, offering them the opportunity to meet international players in the gaming industry and establish partnerships. national and international scale. It was also an opportunity for young, passionate entrepreneurs to strengthen ties with the various players in the value chain of this industry, while promoting business creation initiatives in this sector.

The exhibition, which was held from May 24 to 26, offered seminars, round tables and training sessions led by high-level experts. The themes covered included “Rabat Gaming City”, “The video game industry – Trends and perspectives”, “Video games in the entertainment industry: a new paradigm” or even “Building a video game ecosystem: Keys to success”.
