Lisa Murphy gives five tips to get you started:

1. Take the time to take stock.
Reflecting on your life and asking yourself existential questions can help you clarify what you want more or less of in your life. Also think about what you would do if you weren’t afraid of failing.

2. Dream big, start small.
Thinking about your past passions and your ideal future life can lead you to take small steps toward a more fulfilling, adventure-filled life.

3. Get over indecision.
If you’re hesitant about making changes in your life, try saying “I will do it” rather than “I should do it.” This direct choice of language can encourage you to reinforce your decision and make it happen.

4. Put fear in perspective.
When trying something new, confront your fear or nervousness by thinking about what solutions you would implement if your fears came true. This will give you a feeling of control.

5. Continue to identify and claim what you want to experience: an exciting and exhilarating life.
Daily affirmations can remind you of the person you want to be and the adventures you want to have, helping you prioritize these aspects of your life.
