The bodies are those of Giuseppe Arcuri, 59, and his mother, Lucia Giovanna Arcuri, 76, who mysteriously disappeared earlier this week.

According to our information, the two victims had a rope tied around their necks. Moreover, at the scene of the tragedy, a yellow rope coming out of the rear trunk of the victims’ vehicle was clearly visible. This had been attached to a lamp post.

Officially, the police consider this event as “two suspicious deaths”.

According to police sources, it was probably a murder followed by suicide, but the theory of a suicide pact has not been ruled out.

In this same opinion, the authorities indicated that it was not the habit of the septuagenarian to leave her home, she who was suffering from “the beginnings of memory loss”.

“Investigators have reasonable grounds to believe that Mme Arcuri and his son are said to be together. Investigators and relatives fear for their health and [leur] security,” also indicated the SPVM.

The police also published a photo of Giuseppe Arcuri’s vehicle, an Infinity SUV, with the license plate number. It was inside this same vehicle that the two bodies were discovered.

Since the police allegedly intervened with the missing shortly before their disappearance, the investigation aimed at establishing whether they acted correctly was entrusted to the Bureau of Independent Investigations (BEI).

The criminal aspect of the case was entrusted to the Sûreté du Québec.
