The return of sunny days comes with the fear of parasites like ticks. But there are hundreds of them. We are interested in how to adequately protect ourselves against the dangers they pose.

Kateryn Rochon, associate professor in the Department of Entomology at the University of Manitoba, nevertheless explains that some have a better ability to transmit certain diseases if infected.

Among these, she cites the blacklegged tick, feared for several reasons. This is the species that can transmit Lyme diseaseshe says.

Ms. Rochon shares various recommendations, such as wearing closed shoes, boots, or even pants whose bottom fits into your socks.
