New part of a tetralogy started in 2011, Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom delivers a captivating adventure, although classic, with (always) successful special effects.

Whether one is familiar with the franchise or not, the evocation of The Planet of the Apes inevitably resonates somewhere for everyone as this long cinema saga has been part of pop culture for almost 60 years. Started by the novel written by the Frenchman Pierre Boulle in 1963, this dystopia imagines a world in which humans are dominated by talking primates. The book underwent a first cinematographic adaptation in 1968. The franchise, since then, has seen five films and a TV series during the 1970s, then a new (catastrophic) adaptation by Tim Burton in 2001. It was in 2011 with Planet of the Apes origins that the machine is restarted, with a new saga including Planet of the Apes: The New Kingdom is the fourth part.
