Agadir – The third edition of the International Argan Tree Fair, placed under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, opened Thursday in Agadir.

This event, the opening ceremony of which took place in the presence of the Minister of Agriculture, Maritime Fisheries, Rural Development and Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, is part of the celebration of the International Argan Tree Day (May 10).

This Fair, which will continue until the 12th, is an opportunity to celebrate an emblematic tree of Morocco, bearer of an ancestral heritage and a true pillar of local communities, allowing their economic and financial empowerment as well as their social inclusion.

In a statement to MAP, Mr. Sadiki stressed that this Show, thanks to a rich and varied program of activities, contributes to sustainable development and the valorization of the argan chain according to a more innovative approach.

And to add that this event also aims to highlight the efforts made in favor of the development of the argan tree, as well as the major role played by women’s cooperatives in this area.
