The UIR hosts a robotics competition

The School of Aerospace and Automotive engineering (SAAE) of the International University of Rabat (UIR) is organizing a robotics competition under the theme “Innovate and Automate”, on May 9 and 10, 2024 on its campus.

This competition brings together engineering students, passionate about robotics, from four different national engineering schools (UIR, INPT, FST de Settat, EMI) who will compete in a series of exciting challenges, putting their skills to the test. skills in programming and controlling robots.

The competition includes three major challenges:

  • The gripper: Teams will have to assemble robots capable of manipulating objects with precision within a time limit. The “Pick and place” challenge consists of lifting objects and putting them in the place designated for this purpose.
  • Follower line Challenge: This challenge challenges participants to program cars capable of following a line drawn on the ground autonomously. Teams must develop sophisticated algorithms to enable their robot to navigate precisely, avoiding obstacles and staying on the set path.
  • Drone Challenge: In this phase of the competition, participants are tasked with piloting drones capable of traveling a route without touching obstacles. To succeed, teams must master drone stabilization, precise navigation, and efficient energy and resource management.

This competition provides a unique opportunity for participants to put their theoretical knowledge into practice, explore new ideas and collaborate with peers with similar interests. In addition, it will allow spectators to discover the fascinating potential of robotics and immerse themselves in a world where imagination becomes reality.
