In just over a month, vandals have already attacked the Domaine Notre-Dame de la Route, in Villars-sur-Glâne (Fribourg), three times. They caused numerous depredations and especially killed and mistreated several animals in the institution’s animal park.
Questioned by Radio Fribourg, the operator of this place managed by the Socioprofessional Integration Center which organizes workshops for people who have encountered professional problems, Jörg Bizolier, appears angry. He speaks of animals which “were the subject of filmed stagings”, and criticizes “totally imbecile games”.
In total, after three malicious “expeditions” which were allegedly filmed by their perpetrators, the institution deplores the injuries of a rooster and a duck. And the death of two chickens and a rabbit.
“We have animals with whom we work on a daily basis so that they have confidence in humans, which also allow us to give people in difficulty confidence. These animals are docile and should be able to be approached by everyone,” says Jörg Bizolier, showing that they are easy prey for these cruel acts.
On Tuesday, Domaine Notre-Dame de la Route announced that surveillance cameras would be installed. “Unfortunately, we have to install a video surveillance system on the Domaine site. Indeed, following vandalism and mistreatment leading to injuries and even the death of some of our animals, we are forced to act,” it is stated.
A criminal complaint has been filed. The Friborg cantonal police confirmed that an investigation is underway.
