Some 110 new rooms will be available for students at the Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières (UQTR), starting in August 2024, in time for the fall session. This is a timely addition in the context of a housing shortage and the growing needs of the student population.

The former private seniors’ residence Valéo Jean XXIII, which closed its doors last September, will be transformed into a student residence. This building on rue Brodeur is less than two kilometers from the UQTR.

The building was renovated to create the Roomî residence, a creation of the developers LS4/LSR GesDev. Annie Lemieux and Lucie Laliberté, two managers of this firm, say they wanted to combine modernity and comfort.

We are committed to providing an exceptional student living experience, with a focus on comfort, security and friendliness they specify, by way of a press release.

In partnership with UQTR

UQTR is with this new partnership, underlines the rector of the institution, Christian Blanchette.

This agreement is the result of ongoing efforts to address the housing shortage in Trois-Rivières, which significantly affects our student population.he said. We are committed to finding creative solutions to this challenge and are always open to collaboration with partners who share our vision. The Roomî residence is an excellent example of this type of collaboration and we are convinced that it will offer our student populations a safe, secure and attractive place to live.
