The outstanding amount of microcredit in 2022 reached 8.4 billion dirhams (MMDH), an increase of 1.8% compared to 2021, according to the fourth edition of the annual report of the National Financial Inclusion Strategy ( SNIF).
This results in an average outstanding credit of 10,500 dirhams, compared to 9,800 dirhams in 2021, indicates this report drawn up by Bank-Al Maghrib, the Treasury and External Finance Department (DTFE), the Insurance and Financial Control Authority. Social Security (ACAPS), the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC), the National Federation of Microcredit Associations (FNAM), the Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education (FMEF) and the Professional Association of Payment Institutions ( APEP).
As for the evolution of the number of active customers, it saw a drop of 4.9% to stand at 795,000 customers at the end of 2022, of which 47% are women, specifies the report.
Concerning the number of VSEs served by the sector, it recorded a positive evolution of 112.63% to reach 32,567 VSEs against 15,316 in 2021.
