Major Google Maps update to improve Street View and satellite views

Google is preparing to update its Maps and Earth apps with even more accurate satellite imagery and updated Street View views for many countries.

Google is reportedly about to roll out two major updates to its Google Maps and Google Earth tools. These will notably bring even more precise satellite imagery to both applications while Google Street View is being enhanced in many countries.

An even more precise satellite view

Google Earth and Google Maps will soon offer clearer and more precise satellite imagery, thanks to Google’s advances in terms of AI. Thanks to its Cloud Score+ model, the firm can recognize clouds as well as their shadows to remove them from a satellite view. According to Google, the rendering will now offer a ” clearer and more precise vision of the Earth » on both of its apps.

A new feature is also coming to Google Earth: the ability to travel through time and browse satellite and aerial views of many cities over the last 80 years.
