A week after his appointment as Prime Minister, Michel Barnier continues his consultations to form a government. A team whose political balances will have to be the subject of particular attention on his part, so fragmented has the National Assembly been since the result of the legislative elections. Aurore Bergé retains at least “a certainty” : “Members of the central bloc will be present in this government”she confirmed this Thursday morning on RTL.

So, if she admits that“There is a need for alternation”the resigning minister responsible for equality between women and men believes that “This alternation must be embodied with members of the central bloc”, “first force in support of the Prime Minister in the National Assembly”.

However, the Renaissance MP for Yvelines “don’t despair” to see personalities from the left come to swell the ranks of the government coalition which is emerging between Macronie and Les Républicains. “Perhaps, individually, social democrats want to participate and perhaps free themselves from LFI supervision,” she imagines. In her viewfinder, the “socialists” but, more generally, the social democrats that it judges “quite a few people want to avoid being permanently stuck in a form of Stockholm syndrome with LFI”. And to add: “They are a bit like Mélenchon’s hostages.”
