Por once Google wins a legal battle against the European Commission… Escaping, this Wednesday, before a court of second instance, a fine of 1.49 billion imposed by “Brussels” in 2019 for abuse of a dominant position on the advertising market, the American giant allowed itself a broad smile of relief. A legitimate cry of victory, but perhaps hasty, like Wout van Aert raising his arms too early a penny from the finish line of the third stage of the Critérium du Dauphiné, in June 2022. The Frenchman David Gaudu had overtaken him in extremis. The photo finish for Google could well have some surprises in store for him.
