Audi Brussels: after the demonstration, the negotiation of the social plan is looming

Faced with no prospects for recovery, the Audi Brussels unions will ask to speed up the Renault procedure in order to negotiate the departure conditions of the 3,000 employees and even subcontractors. In the meantime, production will resume this Tuesday, with the majority of staff apparently having volunteered to return to work.

LThe demonstration in support of the workers at Audi Brussels on Monday has barely ended when a new extraordinary works council meeting is looming on Tuesday morning regarding the closure of this factory, which Audi has ordered to stop manufacturing any more models of the brand.

How many will there be? The uncertainty seems to have been lifted in the last few hours: the vast majority will return to work. “We think that 80% of them will get back to work,” several union sources confirmed. “It will be with lead feet, but there are families to feed, bills to pay…”
