An 18-year-old man was arrested on Friday in Bron, in the eastern suburbs of Lyon, where he stabbed and injured two young girls in two days in the Parc du Fort.

An 18-year-old man was arrested on Friday, September 6 in Bron (eastern suburbs of Lyon), where he is suspected of having attacked with a knife two young girls who were walking in the park located near the fort of the town, according to information from the Progress confirmed at FigaroHe allegedly used the same modus operandi in both cases, following the young women before stabbing them.

On Thursday evening, two friends who were walking in the Parc du Fort noticed that they were being followed by a man. After a few minutes, the latter finally pinned the victim against the fence and stabbed her in the back. Seriously injured, the victim was lying on the ground, taken care of by the Samu, when the police arrived on the scene.

Another attack a few hours earlier

While the young woman was being taken to hospital (with her life not in danger), the police questioned her friend and made the connection with an assault that had occurred the day before in the same place and in the same circumstances. The young woman who was the victim had also filed a complaint for stab wounds.

Quickly identified and arrested, the accused admitted the facts while in police custody. He was placed in provisional detention pending his immediate appearance trial before the Lyon Criminal Court on October 8 for “violence with a weapon and carrying a weapon.” The victims are out of danger, the second having received a 10-day temporary incapacity for work.
